Auto Spare World handles returns in a clear, practical way so customers can understand when a return may be requested and what conditions apply.

Auto Spare World supplies imported engines, gearboxes, and selected auto spares across South Africa. We want customers to feel confident buying from us, so we handle returns in a clear, practical way. This Return Policy explains when a return may be requested, what conditions apply, and how the process works.

1) Return Period (7 Days)

Customers may request a return within 7 days after delivery has been completed.

To qualify, the return must be logged with Auto Spare World within the 7 day period and must meet the conditions in this policy.

2) When You Can Return Goods

A) Not Satisfied (Return Within 7 Days)

If you are not satisfied with the goods, you may request a return within 7 days after delivery, provided that:

  • The item has not been installed
  • The item has not been dismantled, modified, repaired, or tampered with
  • The item is returned in the condition it was supplied, including any included parts that were supplied with it
  • You follow the return process below and receive approval before sending anything back

Because engines and gearboxes are heavy mechanical units, any return for "not satisfied" will be assessed carefully to confirm the unit is still in the same condition as supplied.

B) Defective Goods (Return Within 7 Days)

If goods are defective, you must notify Auto Spare World within 7 days after delivery and provide supporting evidence. If the item qualifies as defective based on inspection and the circumstances, we will work with you to find a reasonable solution, which may include repair support, replacement, or refund depending on the product and situation.

Important: Do not continue using or install a unit if a defect is suspected. Continued use can make assessment difficult and may affect the return outcome.

3) What Must Be Reported Immediately (On Delivery)

On delivery, customers must inspect the shipment as soon as possible and before installation.

If you notice:

  • Visible transport damage
  • Broken packaging
  • Missing items
  • The wrong item delivered

Take photos immediately and contact Auto Spare World as soon as possible. Do not install the item until the issue is logged and guidance is given.

4) Return Conditions (What We Require)

All return requests are subject to:

  • Proof of purchase, such as invoice or receipt
  • The order number and customer contact details
  • Photos of the unit and code plate, including engine code or gearbox code where applicable
  • The unit being returned complete, without swapped parts, and in the condition supplied

If the unit has been installed, opened, stripped, modified, or repaired, it may not qualify for a return under the 7 day return period.

5) How to Request a Return (Step by Step)

  1. Contact us first within 7 days after delivery.
  2. Provide your order number, reason for return, and supporting photos.
  3. Wait for approval and return instructions. Returns sent without approval may be refused.
  4. Once approved, return the goods as instructed by courier, depot, or arranged collection depending on the item.
  5. After the unit is received, we will inspect it to confirm the condition and confirm next steps.

6) Inspection and Outcome

Returned products may be inspected to confirm:

  • The item matches what was supplied
  • It has not been installed, damaged, or tampered with
  • The issue reported is consistent with the evidence provided

If the product is found to be in acceptable return condition, the return will be processed.

If the product is found to be damaged after delivery, installed, incomplete, or altered, the return may be declined or a deduction may apply depending on the situation.

7) Shipping and Handling Fees

Return shipping or collection costs may depend on the reason for the return:

  • If the return is due to an Auto Spare World error, for example the wrong item supplied, we will advise the process and reasonable arrangements.
  • If the return is due to customer preference, such as "not satisfied", and the goods meet return conditions, the customer may be responsible for courier, handling, or transport charges.

Any applicable costs will be explained before the return is finalised.
